ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಹನಿಹನಿಗೂಡಿದ್ರೆ ಹಳ್ಳ  ತೆನೆತೆನೆಗೂಡಿದ್ರೆ ಬಳ್ಳ. 

ಕೆಲಸ, ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನ ಕ್ರೋಢೀಕರಣ, ನಮ್ಮ ಚಿಂತನಾ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಈ ಮುಂತಾದವುಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವ ಒಂದು ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು ಇದು. ಒಂದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಸೇರಿ ಕಾಲಾಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ಗುಣ ಇದೆ. ನೀರಿನ ಒಂದೊಂದೇ ಹನಿ‌ ಸೇರಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹಳ್ಳವಾಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತವೆ, ತೆನೆಯ ಒಂದೊಂದೇ ಕಾಳು ಸೇರಿ ಬಳ್ಳ (ಧಾನ್ಯವನ್ನು  ಅಳೆಯುವ ಒಂದು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಅಳತೆ, ಒಂದು ಬಳ್ಳ = ನಾಲ್ಕು‌ಸೇರು) ವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ, ಒಂದೇ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ  ದಿನವೂ ಮಾಡಿದ ತುಸು ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಕೆಲಸ ಕಾಲಾಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಕಾರ್ಯರಾಶಿಯಾಗಿ ರೂಪಾಂತರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ನಿಜವನ್ನು ಅರಿತವರು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಗಾದೆಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನ ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

Kannada proverb – Hanihanigoodidare halla, thenethenegoodidre balla (Drops join to make a pond, grains join to make a big measure). 

This proverb of Kannada language offers a very wise life lesson especially when it comes to the way we work. Our thoughts, things and work, if similar in their nature, seem to have a cumulative characteristic. Little drops of water come together to make a big pond. Small single grains of rice or wheat join together to make a big mearure of grains. Our small daily efforts towards writing a book or composing a beautiful music piece can add up to produce a beautiful result after some time. It is wise to  understand this practice of cumulative nature of things and apply it to our lives. Proverbs teach us a lot, isn’t it?
