ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಕಾಣದ ಊರಿಗೆ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯೇ ದಾರಿ. 

ಹಳೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ಗೂಗಲ್ ನಕ್ಷೆಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ತಮಗೆ ಅಪರಿಚಿತವಾದ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಗುವ ಜನರನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗಿ ತಲುಪುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.  ನಾಚಿಕೆ, ಸಂಕೋಚ ಬಿಟ್ಟು‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಾಯಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು  ಮಾತಾಡಿ,  ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಎಷ್ಟು ದೂರದ, ಅಪರಿಚಿತ ಊರನ್ನಾದರೂ ತಲುಪಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಇಂದು ಬದಲಾಗಿರುವ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಂತೂ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜಂಗಮವಾಣಿಯ ಗೂಗಲ್ಲೇ ದಾರಿ ತೋರುವ ಸಂಗಾತಿ ಆಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಗೂಗಲ್ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಸಿಗದ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ :ಕಾಣದ ಊರಿಗೆ ಈಗಲೂ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯೇ ದಾರಿ‌’ ಎಂದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಲ್ಲ.

In olden days when there was no facility of Google maps, people would ask and ask strangers whom they meet on the way and enquire about their destination. When life was slow, people would not mind giving elaborate directions when someone asked them for. This reality might have been the reason for the birth of the abovesaid proverb. Though Google helps us to find our way nowadays, where there is no Google facility our tongue will serve as our direction provider. Therefore this proverb rings true even today. Isn’t it?
