ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಕಾಸೂ ಹಾಳು ತಲೇನೂ ಬೋಳು‌.

ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಸಿಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲವರ ಸಮುದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಬಾರಿ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಇದು. ‌ಕ್ಷೌರಿಕನ ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಅವನ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಲಿ ಕೊಡುವುದಂತೂ ಸರಿಯೇ, ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೂದಲನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಅಂಗಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವಲ್ಲ! ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಸಲ ಎರಡೆರಡು ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ನಷ್ಟ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ ಬಂದಾಗ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ, ವಸ್ತುವೊಂದನ್ನು ದುಬಾರಿ ಬೆಲೆಗೆ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು, ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ್ದಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾದಾಗ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕೂಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದಾಗ …. ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಹಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅಥವಾ ಶ್ರಮ ಹಾಕಿಯೂ ನಮಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಬರದೆ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.‌ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನಾನುಭವವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ  ಇಂತಹ ಗಾದೆಮಾತುಗಳು ತುಂಬ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ. 

Kannada proverb – Kaasuu haalu, thalenuu bolu ( I lost my money and my hair too!).

When one goes to a barber’s shop we have to pay for the labour, but as a matter of fact we lose our hair too. Isn’t it? There are some instances where we spend money for a thing or service but we are not happy in the end. That means,  we may  not be satisfied with the quality of the outcome.  In such a situation,  the abovementioned proverb is used.  When the losses are double in a situation, this is what comes to the mind of many kannadigas.
