ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಬೀಸೊ ದೊಣ್ಣೆ ತಪ್ಪಿದ್ರೆ ಸಾವಿರ ವರ್ಷ ಆಯಸ್ಸು. 

ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಾಗ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು ಇದು. ‘ಇನ್ನೇನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಸಲಿರುವ ದೊಣ್ಣೆಯ ಏಟು ತಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಲಿ, ಹಾಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿದರೆ ಸಾವಿರ ವರ್ಷ ಆಯಸ್ಸು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದಂತೆ ಆಗುತ್ತೆ, ಮುಂದೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ’ ಎಂಬ ಚಿಂತನೆ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿನ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ನಿಜ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಅನೇಕ ತ್ರಾಸದಾಯಕ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳು ಈ‌ ಜಾಣ್ಣುಡಿಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ, 

ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಡೆಯಾಜ್ಞೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ, ತುಂಬ ಕಷ್ಟವಾದ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳು ಮುಂದೂಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರೆ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸದ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಆಗುವಂತಹ, ಇಷ್ಟವಿಲ್ಲದ  ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆ ಯಾವುದೋ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆ ವರ್ಷ ಆಗದಿದ್ದರೆ ……ಇಂತಹ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ,  ಅಂದರೆ,  ಆಗಬಹುದಾದ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿ ತಪ್ಪಿದರೆ, ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. 

Kannada Proverb : Beeso donne tappidre saavira varsha aayassu( If I can dodge the stick which is about to beat me, I will gain thousand years of life!).

We humans do not like troubles, therefore, in some way, any which way we want to escape from them. Therefore even if we get a temporary respite or relief from our troubles, we feel happy. A stick which is about to strike on us is a danger. By some chance  or luck, if that striking is cancelled or missed, we feel that we earned a thousand years to live! Similarly, if we get a stay order in a court case, if a difficult examination is postponed or a transfer to an inconvenient place is temporarily postponed, this is the proverb which comes to mind. It shows one basic, trouble avoiding  nature of all  human beings.
