ಪಾಪದೂರಿಗೆ ಜಾರ್ಬಂಡೆ, ಪುಣ್ಯದೂರಿಗೆ ಏರ್ಬಂಡೆ

ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಒಂದು ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿದು. ಪಾಪ ಅಥವಾ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದು ಜಾರುಬಂಡೆ ಜಾರಿದಂತೆ ಸರಾಗ, ಮತ್ತು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದಂಥದ್ದು. ಅದೇ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದೆಂದರೆ ಏರುಬಂಡೆ ಅಥವಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟ ಹತ್ತಿದಷ್ಟು ಕಷ್ಟಕರ ಮತ್ತು ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ್ದು, ಒಂದೇ ಉಸುರಿಗೆ ಆಗುವಂಥದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿಯೇ ನಾವು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಬಾರದು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಒಂದು ಸಲ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಅರಂಭಿಸಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದು ತುಂಬ ಕಷ್ಟ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಮಾಡುವ ಕೆಲಸಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಜೊತೆಗಾರರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತುಂಬ ಜಾಗ್ರತೆ ವಹಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಇದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಒಂದು ಜೀವನಪಾಠವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು.

Kannada Proverb : Paapadoorige jaarbande, punyadoorige Erbande. (The road to place of bad deeds is a slide, and the road to place of good deeds is uphill).

This proverb warns us about slide like road to the evil and uphill, difficult road to the good. It is very easy to slide into bad habits and before we know it, we are in the thick of our peril. But doing good deeds is a difficult, uphill, and tiresome journey. We need to do this one step at a time like climbing a mountain. This is why we need to be very careful about the choice of our deeds and the company we keep.
