ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಬೆಳ್ಳಗಿರೋದೆಲ್ಲ ಹಾಲಲ್ಲ, ಹೊಳೆಯೋದೆಲ್ಲ ಚಿನ್ನವಲ್ಲ

ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೊರ ರೂಪ, ಥಳುಕು, ಮಿಂಚಾಟದಿಂದ ತುಂಬ ಆಕರ್ಷಕವಾಗಿ, ತುಂಬ ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತವಾದವೇನೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತವೆ. ಬೇಗಡೆ ಕಾಗದ ನಿಜವಾದ ಚಿನ್ನದಂತೆ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು, ಬಿಳಿಯಾದ ಯಾವುದೋ ದ್ರವ ಹಾಲಿನಂತೆ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲ್ನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕರ್ಷಕವಾಗಿ‌ ಕಾಣುವ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿಯೇ ನಂಬಬೇಕು.

Kannada proverb – Bellagirodella haalalla, holeyodella chinnavalla( All that looks white is not milk, and all that glitters is not gold). 

In life many a times we come across things which attract us by their shine, colour and brightness. Some shining paper might appear like real gold and some random white liquid might appear like milk. But we have to be very careful when we come across things which are too attractive at the outset. They may not be so inside. We have to exercise caution in this matter.
