ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು –  ಹೂವಿನ ಜೊತೆ ನಾರೂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ಸೇರಿತು.

ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಒಂದು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿದು.

ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಹೂವಿನ ಹಾರ ಹಾಕಲು ಹೂ ಕಟ್ಟುವಾಗ ಬಾಳೆಯ ಅಥವಾ ಇನ್ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಗಿಡದ ನಾರನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಹೂವು ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರ ಆವಾಸಸ್ಥಾನ ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ತಾನೇ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಾರಸ್ಯದ ಸಂಗತಿ ಅಂದರೆ ಸುಂದರ, ಸುಗಂಧಮಯ ಹೂವು ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ಸೇರುವುದೇನೋ ಸರಿಯೇ ; ಅದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಬಳಸಿದ ಅಂದಚಂದ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಸರಳ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ನಾರೂ ಸಹ ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ಸೇರಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದಲ್ಲ!! ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಸಾಧಕರ ಜೊತೆ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ನಮಗೂ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ, ಗೌರವ ಸನ್ಮಾನಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯ ಆದಾಗ ಈ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಮೇಲ್ಮೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಾಧಕರ, ಕೀರ್ತಿವಂತರ ಸಹವಾಸ ಲಾಭದಿಂದ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಿಗುವ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ, ಲಾಭಗಳ ವಿಷಯ ಬಂದಾಗ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಬಳಕೆ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Kannada proverb – Hoovina jothe naaruu swarga serithu ( The fibre thread too went to heaven along with the flower).

We know that flower garlands are offered to God as a part of worship. It is believed that the flower which is offered to God reaches his abode, that is heaven. But very interestingly, the simple fibre thread which is neither beautiful, nor fragrant as flower, reaches the heaven, because the flowers are tied to each other with it. Similarly in life if some ordinary person receives special felicitation or royal treatment because of his/her proximity with a famous person or member of royalty, this proverb is used in Kannada! Very amusing proverb, isn’t it?
