ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಹೊಸದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗಸ ಗೋಣಿ ಎತ್ತಿ ಎತ್ತಿ ಒಗೆದನಂತೆ. 

ಲೋಕಾನುಭವದ ಸಾರರೂಪವೇ ಗಾದೆಮಾತುಗಳು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ  ಮೇಲಿನದೂ  ಅಪವಾದ ಅಲ್ಲ. 

ಜನ ಏನಾದರೂ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುವಾಗ ಬಲು ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ನೋಡುವವರು ಆಹಾ ಎನ್ನುವಂತೆ. ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗಸನು ಯಕಃಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಗೋಣಿಚೀಲವನ್ನು ಸಹ ಎತ್ತಿ ಎತ್ತಿ ಒಗೆದಂತೆ.‌ ಆದರೆ, ದಿನ ಕಳೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದಂತೆ ಅವರ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಕುಗ್ಗಿ ಕೆಲಸದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೊಡದಂತೆ ನಾವು ಕೆಲಸದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ‌ ಮತ್ತು‌ ನಮ್ಮ ಉತ್ಸಾಹವನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಒಂದೇ ಸಮನಾಗಿರುವಂತೆ  ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

Kannada proverb – Hosadaralli agasa goni eththi eththi ogedananthe( The washerman washed the gunny bag with great aplomb and force in the beginning).

People are very enthusiastic when they start something new. But as the days go by they lose interest and start slacking. For example, a washerman will wash even a poor gunny bag with great swing and aplomb in the beginning. But as the days go by he may not be so enthusiastic that people can recognize his complacency in the way he works. Therefore, we need to take this proverb as a caution to keep our enthusiasm in work steady.
