ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು – ಗೆಳೆಯರಿಲ್ಲದ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಗೊಂಡಾರಣ್ಯ.

ಸ್ನೇಹ ಅನ್ನುವುದು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದುದು. ವಯಸ್ಸು, ಜಾತಿ, ಲಿಂಗ, ಧರ್ಮ, ಭಾಷೆ, ಅಂತಸ್ತು ಮುಂತಾದ ಯಾವ ಭೇದಗಳನ್ನೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸದೆ ಎರಡು ಜೀವಗಳು ಒಂದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಸದಾ ಒಳಿತನ್ನು ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾ, ಕಷ್ಟ ಸುಖಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜೊತೆಗಿರುತ್ತಾ,  ತಾವು ಜೊತೆಗಿರುವ ಹೊತ್ತನ್ನು  ಸವಿಯುತ್ತಾ, ಪರಸ್ಪರರ ಬದುಕಿನ ಭಾರವನ್ನು ಹಗುರ ಮಾಡುವ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಭಾವನೆ ಇದು‌. ಕವಿ ಚೆನ್ನವೀರ ಕಣವಿಯವರು ಸ್ನೇಹವನ್ನು ‘ಉಪ್ಪಿಗಿಂತಲು ರುಚಿಯು, ತಾಯಿಗಿಂತಲು ಬಂಧು’ ಎಂದು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಬ್ಬರಾದರೂ ಆಪ್ತ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ಇಲ್ಲದ ಬಾಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಖವಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು, ಗೆಳೆಯರಿಲ್ಲದ ಗ್ರಾಮವು ಗೊಂಡಾರಣ್ಯದಂತೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ, ಭಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿದ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು ಇದು‌. 

Kannada proverb – Geleyarillada grama gondaranya ( The village with no friends is a scary forest).

This proverb stresses the need for a few good friends in life. Friendship is a bond which crosses all the barriers like class, race, caste, creed, gender, age and language. More often than not, friends becomes more close to each other than family members. With a good friend on our side, we can face any which difficulty of this harsh life. This is why the proverb says a village/world without friends is as scary as a deep forest.
