ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು – ಮುತ್ತು ಕಳೆದರೆ ಸಿಕ್ಬಹುದು, ಹೊತ್ತು ಕಳೆದರೆ ಸಿಕ್ತದಾ? 

ಸಮಯದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತುಂಬ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತಿದು.‌ ಮುತ್ತು‌ ಬೆಲೆಬಾಳುವ ವಸ್ತು ನಿಜ.‌ ಅದು ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಕಳೆದುಹೋದರೆ, ಕಳಕೊಂಡವರ  ಅದೃಷ್ಟ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ  ಆ ಮುತ್ತು ಮರಳಿ ಸಿಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ.‌ ಆದರೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಕಳೆದ ಸಮಯ ಮಾತ್ರ ಏನು‌ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.‌ ಅದು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದಂತೆಯೇ ಸರಿ.‌ ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ನಾವು ಹೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತವಾದುದು ಎಂದು ಅರಿತು ಜೋಪಾನ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.  

Kannada proverb – Muththu kaledare sikbahudu, hoththu kakedare sikthada?( If a pearl is lost, it might be got back, but if we lose time will we ever get it back?

This proverb drives home the importance of using time well. It is true that a pearl is very precious. But if we are lucky enough, we might get the lost pearl. But if we lose time by not using it in the right way, no matter what we do or give it never comes back. Therefore we should never waste time. It is most precious.
