ಕನ್ನಡದ ಒಂದು ಸ್ವಾರಸ್ಯಕರ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು ಇದು. ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರದೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಡಿಗೆ ತಾವು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಇರುವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿ ಮೈಮೇಲೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವು ಕಚ್ಚದೆ ಇರುತ್ತವೆಯೇ? ಖಂಡಿತ ಕಚ್ಚುತ್ತವೆ. ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅನಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಜಗಳ ಆಡಿದಾಗ, ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದೂ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೈಮೇಲೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ, ಕಛೇರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಸಾಮಾಧಾನವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳು ಕಛೇರಿ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಅವರಿಂದ ಬೈಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತೊಂದರೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲವೇ, ಹಾಗೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿದು. ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನ ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಂಥ ಮಾತು.

As we observe in our daily lives, people behave very peculiarly sometimes. They create trouble for others and themselves unnecessarily. They produce very unpleasant situations by quarrelling and arguing, flaunting obvious rules and get into trouble which would have been totally avoidable. When fellow beings behave this way Kannadigas(kannada speaking people) use this proverb. The message here is that we should not invite trouble as if we had nothing better to do!
