ಚಿಂತೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವನಿಗೆ ಸಂತೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ನಿದ್ದೆ ಬಂತು

ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸು ನಿಶ್ಚಿಂತೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುವ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿದು. ಸಂತೆ ಎಂದರೆ ತುಂಬ ಗೌಜಿ ಗದ್ದಲ ಇರುವ ಜಾಗ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿದ್ದೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಎಂದರೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾದ ಮಾತಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಚಿಂತೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನು ಸಂತೆಯಂತಹ ಗಲಗಲ ಗಲಾಟೆಯ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲೂ ನಿದ್ದೆ ಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲ. ತುಂಬ ನಿಶ್ಚಿಂತೆಯಾಗಿ ಬದುಕುವವರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಆಗುಹೋಗುಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಲೆಯೇ ಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದವರನ್ನು ಲಘುವಾಗಿ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಿಸಲು ಸಹ ಬಳಸುವ ಮಾತು ಇದು. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಗಾದೆಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೂ ಒಂದು.

Kannada proverb: chinte illadavanige santheyallu nidde bathu (A man without worries can sleep in a market too).

This proverb is remembered and used by people to indicate a person who is carefree and does not have any worries. Sometimes this is used in an appreciative tone and sometimes to chide a person lightly about his lack of responsibility towards the happenings in his home or surroundings. Nevertheless this is one of the most popular proverbs in Kannada language.
