ಆಳಾಗ ಬಲ್ಲವನೇ ಅರಸಾಗುವ.

ಒಬ್ಬ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಅರಸ ಅಥವಾ ನಾಯಕನು ಹೇಗಿರಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೊಗಸಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿದು. ಅರಸ ಅಥವಾ ನಾಯಕ ಅಂದರೆ ಕೇವಲ ಕೆಲಸ ಹೇಳುವವನು, ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಆದೇಶ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೆಯವರಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸುವವನು ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಸರ್ವೇಸಾಧಾರಣವಾಗಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ತಿಳಿದವನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸಬಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತಾನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸದ ವಿಧಿವಿಧಾನ, ಮೂಲಚೂಲಗಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವವರು ಕೆಲಸ ಕದಿಯಲೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಳು, ಕುಂಟು ನೆಪಗಳು ಸಹ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಆಳು ಅರ್ಧಂಬರ್ಧ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮುಗಿಸುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂಬ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಕೂಡ ಅವನಿಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಆಳಿನಂತೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಇರುವವನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಆರಸನಾಗಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ನಿಭಾಯಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ!

Kannada proverb – Aalagaballavane arasaaguva (Only the man who knows to be a servant will become a king).

king or a leader can be successful only when he knows how to work like a servant. People generally feel that the job of the man at the top rung is just to order around and make others work. On the contrary a good king or leader has to know the work in its basic nature and he should be in a position to gaze exactly what resources and skills are needed to get that particular job done. Only then he can be in charge of the situation. This is because he will know in his heart that, since he knows the job, even if anyone leaves it half way he himself can do it, or find the right person to do it. So, this proverb tells an important thing or two about being a successful king or a leader.
