ಐದು ಬೆಳ್ಳು ಒಂದೆ ಸಮಕ್ಕೆ ಇರ್ತವ?

ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ಅನ್ನುವುದು ವಿವಿಧತೆಗಳ ಸಂಗಮ. ಹೂವುಗಳು, ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು, ಗಿಡಮರಗಳು, ಮನುಷ್ಯರು, ಅವರ ಸ್ವಭಾವಗಳು …… ಏನನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುವುದು ಬಹುತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪಾರ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯ. ಈ ವಿಷಯ ನಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳು ಕೈಗೂಡದಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಾವು ಬಹಳ ಬೇಸರ ಪಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ. `ಅವರು ನಾನಂದುಕೊಂಡಂತೆ ಯಾಕೆ ವರ್ತಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ?, ನಾನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ? ಎಂದು ತುಂಬ ತಲೆಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲ್ಕಂಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಂದು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ಬೆರಳುಗಳು ಒಂದೇ ಸಮಕ್ಕೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಕೈಯು ಮಾಡುವ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಿಗೆ ಅದು ಹೀಗಿರುವುದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಈ ಲೋಕ ನಡೆಯಲು ಭಿನ್ನ ಭಿನ್ನ ರೀತಿಯ ಜನರು ಬೇಕು. `ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದೇ ತರಹ ಇರಬೇಕು, ನಾವು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಇರಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುವುದು ವಾಸ್ತವಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂದುವ ವಿಚಾರವಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗೆ ಗಾದೆಮಾತುಗಳು ವಾಸ್ತವವೇನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.

Variety is the life blood of this world. Whether it is the question of flowers, plants, trees, or nature of human beings there is unlimited variety. Though we know this in principle, when we come across unpleasant situations or difference of opinion among our fellow beings we get very upset. In such circumstances the above proverb helps us. The five fingers in our hand are not of same length or thickness, but this difference is necessary for the efficiency of the hand. Likewise it might be in the scheme of things that there is a lot of variety. We do well to accept it. It brings us to the saying that it takes all sorts of people to make the world. This is how proverbs of yore make us wiser.
