ದೊರೆ ಮನಸ್ಸು, ಮರದ ನೆರಳು ಇದ್ಹಂಗಿರಲ್ಲ.

ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಳ್ಳವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಕೆಳಗಿನ ನೌಕರರನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ರೀತಿ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಒಂದೇ ಸಮನಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ತಮ್ಮ ಆಜ್ಞಾನುವರ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಳ್ಳವರು ಇಂದು ಎಷ್ಟೇ ಆಪ್ತತೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡರೂ ನಾಳೆ ಅದೇ ಆಪ್ತತೆ, ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಗಳಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಖಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಲಾಗದು. ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ ಬದಲಾದಾಗ ದೊರೆ/ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಇದ್ದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮ ವರ್ತನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಕೆಳಗಿನವರು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಲಾಗದು ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಎಲ್ಲೋ ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಮರದ ನೆರಳಿನಂತೆ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು, ವರ್ತನೆಗಳು ಬದಲಾಗಬಹುದು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಕೈಕೆಳಗೆ ದುಡಿಯುವವರು, ದೊರೆಯು ತಮಗೆ ನೀಡುವ ಸಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಕಾಲ ಅದು ಹಾಗೇ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುವಂತಿಲ್ಲ. ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಒಂದು ಅನುಭವಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ತುಂಬ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆ.

Kannada Proverb : dore manssu marada neralu iddangiralla(A king’s mood and shade of a tree are not consistent).

This proverb tells an experiential truth about work places. If a King/or a high ranking officer/boss moves very closely with his under officer/ employee/servant one day, it does not mean that he will behave that way every day. The king/boss can change his behavior suddenly without giving any explanation whatsoever to the employee. The power he has makes him unquestionable in such matters. As the shadow of a tree keeps changing its position as per the direction of the changing Sun, so is the king’s mood. Care should be taken in this regard by the people who are in not so powerful positions in any organization, lest they will be in for a rude surprise sooner or later.
