ಒಲ್ಲದ ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ ಮೊಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಲು.

ಇದು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುವ ಒಂದು ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು. ಮೊಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಲು ಬರುವುದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ, ಸಿಟ್ಟು ಇದ್ದರೆ ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಅವಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳೇ ಕಾಣುತ್ತವೆ. ಅವಳು ಬಡಿಸಿದ ಮೊಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಲು ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದು ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ!! ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಹೊಸ ಜಗಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ತಮಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಾದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಏನೋ ಒಂದು ಕುಂಟುನೆಪ ಹೇಳಿ, ಅಥವಾ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವ ದೋಷವೊಂದನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಆಡಿ ಸಂಬಂಧದಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತನ್ನು ಚಾಲ್ತಿಗೆ ತಂದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂತಹ ರೂಪಕ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವಿವರಿಸಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ, ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತುಗಳು ತಾವು ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ಬಹು ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಪಡೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ; ಕಾವ್ಯದಂತೆ ಎನ್ನೋಣವೇ!

Kannada proverb: olladada gandanige mosaralli kallu(A disgruntled husband  finds pebbles in curd served by his wife).

This is probably one of the most famous proverbs in Kannada language. When a husband is disgruntled with his wife he keeps picking on her for everything. Even when there are no mistakes or flaws in his wife’s work, he makes it a point to find one! Therefore he might find pebbles in curd when it is absolutely and practically impossible to do so. When people start finding faults not due to the actual flaws but due to their discontentment about the concerned person or situation, this proverb is used. We also find that linguistically and aesthetically speaking this proverb is very metaphorical akin to poetry.
