ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ರೆಟ್ಟೆ ಮುರೀಬೇಕು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿನ್ನಬೇಕು

ನಾವು ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟು ದುಡಿದು ನಮ್ಮ ಅನ್ನ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಉತ್ತಮ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ನಾಲ್ಕೇ ಪದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತಿದು. ರೆಟ್ಟೆ ಎಂಬ ನಾಮಪದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಘಂಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಅರ್ಥ ತೋಳು, ಬಾಹು ಎಂದು. ರೆಟ್ಟೆ ಮುರಿಯುವುದು ಅಂದರೆ ಶ್ರಮ ಪಟ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಎಂದರ್ಥ. ನಾವು ತಿನ್ನುವ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯು ನಮ್ಮ ರೆಟ್ಟೆ ಮುರಿದು ದುಡಿದು ಗಳಿಸಿದ ಹಣದಿಂದ ಬರಬೇಕೇ ಹೊರತು, ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರ ಮರ್ಜಿ, ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ, ದಾನದಿಂದ ಬರಬಾರದು. ದುಡಿದು ಗಳಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದ ಕೂಳನ್ನು ತಾನು ಉಣ್ಣುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಉನ್ನತಿ ಇದೆ, ಶ್ರೇಯಸ್ಸಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿನ ಭಾವಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿದೆ.

This proverb gives a very important life lesson. We need to work hard in our lives so that we earn our bread. Only the bread which is earned by our own back breaking work is the righteous bread.
