ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಮಾಡೋದು ಅನಾಚಾರ, ಮನೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಬೃಂದಾವನ.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿದು.‌ ಕೆಲವು ಜನರು ಮೋಸ, ದಗಾ, ವಂಚನೆಗಳಂತಹ ಅನಾಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಮನೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಬೃಂದಾವನ ನೆಟ್ಟು, ಎದ್ದು ಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ತುಳಸಿ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ತಾವು ತುಂಬ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರು, ದೈವಭಕ್ತರು ಎಂಬ ನಟನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹವರ ನಿಜಗುಣವು ಒಂದಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಬಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.  ಹಾಗೆ ಬಯಲಾದ ದಿನ ಅವರ ಮನೆಯ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತ ವಾಸಿಸುವವರು, ಅವರ ಪರಿಚಿತರು ಮೇಲ್ಕಂಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರನ್ಬು ಲೇವಡಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಇಂತಹ ಅಹಿತಕರ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ‌ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಧರ್ಮಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ‌ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಬೇಕು‌. 

Kannada proverb  – Madodu anaachara, mane munde brundavana  (They do unscrupulous things but maintain a mini temple in their yard. Brundavana= Hindu sage Raghavendra Swamy’s resting place, in which holy tulasi plant is grown). This proverb points out at people who put a facade of being pious and religious but do a lot of illegal and unethical things in reality. But the fact is such facade can not support them forever. When the nasty reality is out, people who are acquainted with them will sneer and use this proverb. Therefore, this proverb stresses on the importance of virtuous life, which is far more important than putting a show of religious symbols in our yards.
