ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಹೋದ್ಯಾ ಪಿಶಾಚಿ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಬಂದೆ ಗವಾಕ್ಷೀಲಿ.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಹತ್ತು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ  ಈ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು ಕೂಡ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ ಅನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತೆ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬಹುವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸುವ ಒಂದು ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತಿದು. ಹಿಂಸೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಪಿಶಾಚಿಯೊಂದು ಬಾಗಿಲಿಂದ ಹೋಯಿತಪ್ಪ, ಸದ್ಯ! ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಗವಾಕ್ಷಿಯಿಂದ (ವೆಂಟಿಲೇಟರ್) ವಾಪಸ್ಸು ಬಂದರೆ, ಅದರಿಂದ ತೊಂದರೆ ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಗಾಗಬೇಡ! 

ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ,  ನಮಗೆ ಸದಾ ಕಿರಿಕಿರಿ, ತೊಂದರೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಂಗತಿಯೊಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕಿನಿಂದ ಹೋಯಿತು, ಮರೆಯಾಯಿತು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ, ಅದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಆಯಿತು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ, ಆಗ ಈ ಗಾದೆಯನ್ನು ಜನ  ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.  ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ,  ಅಂಗಡಿ ಮಾಲೀಕನಿಗೆ ಸದಾ  ಸಾಲ ಹೇಳುವ ಗಿರಾಕಿ, ನಮ್ಮ  ಕಛೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬ ಇರುಸುಮುರುಸು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ವಿಭಾಗದಿಂದಲೇ  ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಬರುವುದು, ತೀರಾ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಪುಸ್ತಕ‌ ಬರೆದರೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯದ್ಭುತ ಸಾಹಿತಿ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಕಳಿಸಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬರೆಯಿರಿ, ಬರೆಯಿರಿ ಎಂದು ದುಂಬಾಲು ಬಿದ್ದು ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರಿಗೆ ತಲೆನೋವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸುವ ಲೇಖಕರು ….. ಹೀಗೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬಹುದು. ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಾಗ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವ ಪುನರಾವರ್ತಿತ ಅಸಂತೋಷಕರ ಸಂದರ್ಭವನ್ನು ಮೇಲಿನ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು ಅಡಕವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆ ಅಂದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು.

Kannada proverb – Hodya pishachi Andre bande gavaksheeli( Did you go away devil?, No I have come back through the ventilator!).

This is probably one of the most popular proverbs of Kannada language.  We might have wished the devil to go away and luckily might have seen it go away through the door or window also, but if it reappears through the ventilator, what would be our plight! A pesky salesman, a troublesome relative, a kind of work at office which we are not happy with – all these are examples of the ‘devils’ we face in real life. Howmuch ever we try to send them away, they keep reappearing! Our ancestors had the wisdom to observe this particular irritating factor in life, so this proverb is born! 

Life does have its irratating but sometimes laughable moments. Isn’t it?
