ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕ್ ದಂಡ ಭೂಮೀಗ್ ಭಾರ.

ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ  ಆಗಾಗ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು ಇದು‌. ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ, ಉಂಡಾಡಿ ಗುಂಡನ ಹಾಗೆ ಬರೀ ತಿಂದುಂಡು‌ ಕಾಲ ಕಳೀತಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಳಸುವಂತಹ ಸೊಲ್ಲು.‌  ಇವರು ತಿನ್ನುವ ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ದುಡಿಮೆಯ ಬೆಲೆ‌ ತೆರುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ರೀತಿಯಿದು. ತಾವು ಓಡಾಡುವ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಇವರು ಭಾರ ಎಂಬುದು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರದ ತುತ್ತತುದಿ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಯಾರ ಬಗೆಗಾದರೂ ತೀರಾ ಅಸಹನೆ, ಸಿಟ್ಟು, ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ಇದ್ದಾಗಲೂ ಜನ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಳಸುವುದುಂಟು. ‘ದಂಡಪಿಂಡ’ ಅನ್ನುವ ಪದವನ್ನೂ ಈ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತಿನ ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲೇ ಬಳಸುವುದುಂಟು. ಈಗಿನ ಹೊಸ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯವರು ‘ವೇಸ್ಟ್ ಬಾಡಿ’ ಎಂಬ ಪದವನ್ನು  ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ! ಹೀಗೆ ಯಾವತ್ತೂ  ಅನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಬದುಕುವುದೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು, ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? 

Kannada proverb – Annank danda bhoomeeg bhara( Food is wasted on him and earth feels difficult to bear his heavy weight). 

In the Kannada speaking world, if a man or a woman is lazy and does not work properly,  this proverb is used to banish him or her. This proverb expresses deep disgust about such persons. It is like saying ‘good for nothing’ in English. This is the worst reputation any human being can get among kannadigas! Therefore one needs to strive to do his or her job well and stay away from such a reputation.
