ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಆಡಿ ತಪ್ಪಬೇಡ ಓಡಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಬೇಡ.

ಪ್ರಾಸಬದ್ಧವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನ ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಡುವ ಒಂದು ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಇದು. ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ತಾವು ಆಡಿದ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಭಾಷೆಗೆ ಎಂದೂ ತಪ್ಪಬಾರದು, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯಾರಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಎಂದೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು‌‌. ಆಡಿದ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿದರೆ ಅಥವಾ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡುವಾಗ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದರೆ ವಿಪರೀತ ಅವಮಾನ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ, ಇಂತಹ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ‌. 

Kannada proverb – Adi thappabeda, odi sikkabada ( If you promise

do not back off, and if you are running away to escape, don’t get caught). 

This proverb teaches us two ways in which we should protect our dignity. One, if we have given a word or promised something to anyone, we must never back off from it. We must strive hard to keep the promise. And if we are running away with the intention of escaping from something, we should not get caught. Because it is too insulting to be caught if we are running away. A good lesson about the right way to live. Isn’t it?
