ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಕಿಡಿ ಸಣ್ಣದಾದ್ರೂ ಕಾಡು ಸುಡಬಲ್ಲುದು.

ತುಂಬ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಇದು. ‌ಬೆಂಕಿ ಕಿಡಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕದು ಎಂದು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವಂತಿಲ್ಲ. ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಪೊದೆ, ಗಿಡ, ಮರ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಒಂದರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದರಂತೆ ಸುಡಬಲ್ಲುದು ಅದು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಚಾಡಿಮಾತು, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚು, ಒಳಸಂಚುಗಳಂತಹ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ; ಶುರುವಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅವುಗಳ ಬೇರು ಚಿವುಟದಿದ್ದರೆ ಇಡೀ ಬದುಕನ್ನೇ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲಂತಹ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತವೆ‌‌. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕದೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇಂತಹ ‘ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಕಿಡಿ’ಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಬೇಗನೆ ನಂದಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕೆಂಬ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಕಾಡು ನಾವು ನೋಡನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಕ್ಷಣಾರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಉರಿದು ಬೂದಿಯಾಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ.

Kannada proverb – Kidi sannadaadruu kaadu sudaballudu ( Even though the spark is tiny it can burn the whole forest).

It is true that a spark is very tiny, but we know that, if neglected, it can put the whole forest in flames within very short time span! Just like that the emotions of hatred, jealously, ill will etc., though they look negligible in the beginning, if unchecked they can destroy our relationships or lives. Sometimes the damage caused can be irreparable. Therefore we need to careful to extinguish such ‘sparks’ as soon as possible.
