ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಬಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಕಾಯಿ ಭಾರವಾ? ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಳಲು ಭಾರವಾ?

ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಬಳಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತಿದು. ಬಹಳ ನವಿರು, ಕೋಮಲ ಅನ್ನಿಸುವ ಬಳ್ಳಿಗಳು ದಪ್ಪ ದಪ್ಪವಾದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಮವಾಗಿ ಧರಿಸಿರುತ್ತವೆ ; ಆಲದ ಮರದಂತಹ ಮರಗಳು ದೊಡ್ಡ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಿಳಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ಧರಿಸಿರುತ್ತವೆ‌. ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಂದಿರು (೯೯ ಶೇಕಡ) ತಮಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟೇ ಬಡತನ ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಎಷ್ಟೇ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭಾರ ಎಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಾಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿರಬಹುದಾದ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತಿದು. ಹಳೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ, ವಿವಾಹಿತ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡನ ಮನೆಯ ಆಶ್ರಯ ತಪ್ಪಿ ತವರಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ತಮ್ಮಿಂದ ತವರಿಗೆ ತೊಂದರೆ ಎಂದು ನೊಂದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಹ ಹೆತ್ತವರು ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು‌.

In nature we see that slender climbers support heavy fruits and trees support their prop roots effortlessly. This analogy is used to admire how the parents support their offsprings with a lot of love and affection! Mother or father never make the children feel that they are a burden. This proverb was especially used when married daughters returned to their parental homes due to some marital problem. In such a circumstance, if the daughter felt delicate about being a burden to the home, this proverb was used by her parents. This is a very popular proverb in Kannada language.
