ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಅನ್ನ ಹಾಕಿದ ಮನೆ ಕೆಡಲ್ಲ, ಗೊಬ್ಬರ ಹಾಕಿದ ಹೊಲ ಕೆಡಲ್ಲ.

ಜೀವನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಒಂದು ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು ಇದು‌. ಬೇರೆಯವರಿಗೆ, ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ, ಬಂದು ಹೋಗುವವರಿಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ನೆರಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಯಾರಿಗೇ ಆದರೂ ಅನ್ನ ಹಾಕುವ ಮನೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಅದು ಒಂದು‌ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಮನೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿದವರ ಹಾರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಸದಾ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಅದು ಎಂದೂ ಹಾಳಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಗೊಬ್ಬರ ಹಾಕಿದ ಹೊಲ. ಅದು ಸದಾ ಫಲವತ್ತಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.  ನಮ್ಮ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಾಡಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹ, ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಒಳಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಈ‌ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Kannada proverb – Anna haakida mane kedalla, gobbara haakida hola kedalla( A home which serves food won’t perish, a field which is given fertilizer won’t perish).

This proverb stresses the importance of being generous and giving. This was a value of our rural societies. A home would be an open door phenomenon. Anytime, anyone could walk in to have a meal. Just like a field which is given plenty of fertilizer won’t perish, just like that a home which serves food to the needy will not perish. This is because, the goodwill and blessings of the beneficiaries and Almighty’s benevolence  will always protect that home. What a great value our ancestors had! Isn’t it?
