ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತು – ಕಾಲ‌ ಹೋಗ್ತದೆ, ಮಾತು ನಿಲ್ತದೆ.

ನಮ್ಮ‌ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಜೀವನಾನುಭವದ ಸಾರ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು. ಮಾತು ಅನ್ನುವುದು ಎಂತಹ ಮಹತ್ವದ ವಿಷಯ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಅನೇಕ ಸಲ ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.‌ ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯು ಕೋಪದಲ್ಲೋ, ಅವಿವೇಕದಿಂದಲೋ, ಅಥವಾ ತುಂಬ ಯೋಚಿಸಿಯೋ ಆಡುವ ಒಂದು ಮಾತು, ಕೇಳುಗನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿದುಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಇನ್ನೂ ರೂಪುಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಂತಹ ಮಾತುಗಳ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಬಹು ಹೆಚ್ಚು. ಎಷ್ಟೇ ಕಾಲ ಸರಿದರೂ ಆ ಮಾತಿನ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ! ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.‌ ನಾವು ಆಡುವ ಮಾತಿನ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಜಾಗ್ರತೆ ವಹಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಪಾಠ ಹೇಳ್ತಿದೆ ಅಲ್ಲವೆ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು?

Sometimes a person may say something in anger or without giving much thought. He/she won’t have an idea what effect it might have on the person who is at the receiving end. Harsh and insulting words can etch a permanent mark in the reciever’s memory and trouble him/her till eternity. That is why our ancestors have created this proverb. It teaches a valuable lesson, wherein we get to think about what we are saying. Good advice. Isn’t it?
