ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಕೇಳಿ ಬೆಳಗಾಗೆದ್ದು ರಾಮನಿಗೂ ಸೀತೆಗೂ ಏನು ಸಂಬಂಧ ಅಂದ ಹಾಗೆ.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಬಹು ಸ್ವಾರಸ್ಯಕರ ಗಾದೆಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ‌ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು. ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ನಾವು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹಜೀವಿಗಳ  ವಿಚಿತ್ರ 

ನಡವಳಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಅಥವಾ ನಾವು ವಿಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನಿಸುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳು ಬರಬಹುದು.‌‌‌ ಇದನ್ನು ತುಸು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.‌ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ರಾಮಾಯಣದ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲ ವಿಶದವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು ಎಂದು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ. ಕೇಳುವವರು ಎಲ್ಲ ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ ‘ಹೌದು, ರಾಮನಿಗೂ ಸೀತೆಗೂ ಏನು ಸಂಬಂಧ ಅಂತ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೇಳಿ ಮತ್ತೆ? ‘ ಅಂತ ಕೇಳಿದರೆ ತನ್ಮಯವಾಗಿ ಕಥೆ ಹೇಳಿದವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಗಾಗಬೇಡ! ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಜನರು ನಾವು  ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ನಂತರ, ನಾವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಹೇಳಿಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲವೇನೋ ಅನ್ನಿಸುವಂತೆ ತೀರಾ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಅಥವಾ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಕ ವಿಷಯದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕೇಳಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ! ನಮಗೆ ‘ನಾನೇಯೇನು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತು ಗಂಟಲು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲ ವಿಷಯ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು!??’  ಅಂತ ಅನ್ನಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ.  ಇಂತಹ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತಾಡುವ ಜನರು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಗಾದೆಮಾತನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ!

Kannada proverb : Raathriyella Ramayana keli belagageddu Ramanigu Seethegu enu sambandha anda haage (  Whole night they listened to Ramayana and in the morning they asked ‘ What is the relationship between Rama and Sita?’).

Sometimes we come across a very funny situation in life. This can happen in a classroom or in some daily interactions. We would have explained some aspect in-detail to someone and we feel smugly happy  that we have been successful in driving home the point. But suddenly the person conversing with you will ask a very elementary or basic question that we start doubting ‘what happened! Did he/she  followed what I said or not!’ In such a perplexing situation Kannada speaking people utter this proverb.  Since Ramayana is a legend known to most of the Indians, this proverb strikes a chord. Isn’t it?
