ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ತಲೇನ ಕಡಿದು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಸೋರೆಬುರುಡೆ ಎಂದೇ ಹೇಳ್ತಾನೆ. 

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಒಂದು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿದು. ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ, ಬಂಧುಮಿತ್ರರಿಗೆ ಅಥವಾ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಸಹಾಯ/ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಏಕೋ ಸಮಾಧಾನ,ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ‘ನೀನೇನು ಮಹಾ ಮಾಡಿದೆ? ಯಾರಿದ್ರೂ ಇಷ್ಟು ಮಾಡ್ತಿದ್ರು ಬಿಡು’ ಅಂದುಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕೆಲವು ಸಲ ನಾವು ಕೂಡ ಅವರು ‘ತಮ್ಮ ಗರಿಷ್ಠ ಮಿತಿ’ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದ ಕೆಲಸದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಯಿಸಬಹುದು‌. ಅಂತಹ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಇದರಿಂದ ಆಚೆಗೆ ಇನ್ನೇನು ಮಾಡಲಪ್ಪಾ!?’ ಎಂಬ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಭಾವಕ್ಕೆ ತುತ್ತಾದವರು ‘ ತಲೇನ ಕಡಿದು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಸೋರೆಬುರುಡೆ’ ಅಂತಾನೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತ ಕೈಹಿಸುಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ತಲೆ ಕಡಿದು ಕೊಡುವುದು ಅಂದರೆ ಅದು ಅಂತಿಮ ಸಂಗತಿ, ಪ್ರಾಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ತಾನೇ. ಅದನ್ನೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸದೆ ಅದೊಂದು ಯಕಃಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಸೋರೆಬುರುಡೆ ಅನ್ನುವವರಿಗೆ ಏನೆಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವುದು!!?

ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಮ್ಮೊಮ್ಮೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ಇಂತಹ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸುರಿನ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ದನಿಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?

Sometimes our best won’t be so, let alone best, not even good enough in the eyes of a person who might be our family member, relative or friend. Though we have put in the best effort and did all we could they are not satisfied. This situation can be vice versa too. Even we may not recognize some loved one’s effort for actually what it is. Then the frustrated person would say ‘What is this!? Even if I cut and give my head to him, he will say it is only a bottle gourd bulb’.This means that the effort is not recognised and it is devalued very much.

It is not uncommon that we face such a situation in life, isn’t it? In such a weary moment the above proverb is used. This is a  very grotesque and pictorial proverb in Kannada language.
