ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಅಕ್ಕರೆಯ ರುಚಿ ಮುಂದೆ, ಸಕ್ಕರೆಯ ರುಚಿ ಹಿಂದೆ.

ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ನಡುವಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ತುಂಬ ನಿದರ್ಶನೀಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಇದು. ಎಷ್ಟೇ ಸಿಹಿಯಾದ, ರುಚಿಯಾದ ಊಟವನ್ನು ಬಡಿಸಿದರೂ ಹಾಗೆ ಬಡಿಸುವಾಗ ಅಕ್ಕರೆ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದರೆ ಆ ಊಟ  ನಮ್ಮ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ರುಚಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಹೆಚ್ಚು ತಿನ್ಮಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ, ತಿಳಿಗಂಜಿಯ ಸರಳ ಊಟವನ್ನೇ ಆಗಲಿ, ಅಕ್ಕರೆಯಿಂದ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಸಂತಸ ಪಟ್ಟು, ಎರಡು ತುತ್ತು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿಯೇ ಸೇರಿ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ತಂಪಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ, ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು,  ನಮ್ಮ‌‌ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಪದಾರ್ಥವೈಭವಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಕ್ಕರೆ, ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಗಳು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. 

Kannada proverb – Akkareya ruchi mundhe, sakkareya ruchi hindhe

(The taste of affection is more prominent than the taste of sugar).

This proverb introduces us to the fact that the affection of the host or the one who serves the food is more important than the sweetness or taste of food. A grandiose royal food served without warmth does not taste good, but a simple meal served with love and affection tastes superb! That is because of the deep need of affection we humans have. 

The proverb makes sense. Isn’t it?
