ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷದ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ನೂರು ವರ್ಷದ ತನಕ.

ಚಿಕ್ಕವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಕಲಿತ ಶಾಲಾಪಾಠ ಅಥವಾ ಬದುಕಿನ ಪಾಠ ನಾವು ಮುದುಕರಾದರೂ ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಾವು ಏನು ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ವಹಿಸಬೇಕು. ‌ಚಿಕ್ಕವಯಸ್ಸಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಕಲಿತ ಮಗ್ಗಿ, ಪದ್ಯಗಳು, ಕೇಳಿದ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಸದಾ ನಮ್ಮ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತವೆಯಲ್ಲವೇ? ಅದನ್ನೇ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ತುಂಬ ಪ್ರಾಸಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. 

Kannada proverb – Muuru varshada budhdhi nooru varahada thanaka( What is learnt at three stays till you are hundred). 

Human age from 3-6 years is an age when grasping is very sharp. What we learn at that age stays with us till we reach our ripe age ( say hundred). For example, the poems and tables we learnt at our kindergarten stage. This is why parents and teachers need to be very careful as to what they are feeding the young child’s mind. This way, the proverb gives us a peep into a psychological reality of human development.
