ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಬೊಬ್ಬೆ ಹೊಡೆದ್ರೆ ಹಬ್ಬ ಆಗುತ್ತಾ?

ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಬ್ಬ, ಮದುವೆ-ಮುಂಜಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ ; ತೋರಣದಿಂದ ಹೂರಣದ ತನಕ, ಪೂಜೆ-ಪುನಸ್ಕಾರಗಳಿಂದ ದಾನದ ತನಕ. ವಾರ-ಹದಿನೈದು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಗಮನವಿಟ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಹಬ್ಬ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕೆಲವರು ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡದೆ, ಬರೀ ಕೆಲಸದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡಿ, ಕೂಗಾಡಿ ಬೊಬ್ಬೆ ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹವರಿದ್ದರೆ ಹಬ್ಬ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸವೂ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ‌.  ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಬೊಬ್ಬೆವೀರರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಯೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಈ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಳಕೆಗೆ ತಂದಿರಬೇಕು.

Kannada proverb – Bobbe hodedre habba aaguththa? ( If you raise a hue and cry, will the celebration gets done?)

There are two kinds of people. First the doers, and second the noise creators. The latter keep raising a hue and cry about ‘doing’ the work but never actually do anything. Therefore the work never gets done. This is why our ancestors have warned us against this behavior. If a celebration is to be successful someone needs to to what it takes. Otherwise it just becomes a hue and cry.
