ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಮಳೆ ನಿಂತ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೊಡೆ ಭಾರ.

ನಾವು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಮಂದಿ ಮೂಲತಃ ಆಲಸಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿ ಎಸೆಯುವ ಗುಣದವರಿರಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೇ ನೋಡಿ ಮಳೆ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ ವಸ್ತುವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸುವ ಕೊಡೆಯು ಮಳೆ ನಿಂತ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಉಪಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅದು ಬೇಡದ ಹೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ನಮಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೆ! 

ದುರಂತವೆಂದರೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹಜೀವಿಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲೂ ಕೆಲವರು ಇದೇ ಧೋರಣೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ವಿಪರ್ಯಾಸವಾದರೂ ಇದು ಸತ್ಯ.

Kannada proverb – Male nintha mele kode bhara( When the rain stops the umbrella feels heavy).

We humans sometimes are very peculiar. Our behavior betrays lazyness  and a ‘use and throw’ attitude. For example, as stated in this proverb, though the umbrella is the most needed thing during the rain, the moment rain stops it feels undesirable and heavy! Unfortunately this attitude is extended to human contacts also, by some persons at times. Sad but true. Life and human nature are like that!!
