ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ಅಡ್ಡೇಟಿನ ಮೇಲೊಂದ್ ಗುಡ್ಡೇಟು. 

ಇದು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಾಗ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಒಂದು ಗಾದೆಮಾತು. ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ವಿದ್ಯೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯವು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಬರದೆ ಏನೋ ಅಂದಾಜಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೀಗೂ ಕೆಲಸ ಪೂರೈಸಿದಾಗ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ, ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಷ್ಟೇ ಅಡುಗೆ ಬರುವವರು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಸಾಂಬಾರ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುವುದು,  ರಸ್ತೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೇಗೋ ವಿಳಾಸ ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು‌, ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ತಯಾರಾಗದೆ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ/  ರಸಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ  ಆ ಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ತೋಚಿದ ಉತ್ತರ ಬರೆಯುವುದು….. ಇಂಥವು. ಮರದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬ ಮೇಲಿರುವ  ಮಾವಿನಕಾಯಿ ಉದುರಿಸಲು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಂದಾಜಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಲ್ಲೇಟು ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಅಂದಾಜಿನ ಏಟಿಗೆ ಮಾವಿನಕಾಯಿ ಬಿದ್ದರೂ ಬೀಳಬಹುದು, ಬೀಳದೆಯೂ ಇರಬಹುದು. ‌ಇಂತಹ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಾಗ  ಎದುರಾಗ್ತವಲ್ಲ ನಮಗೆ….! ಆಗ ಬಳಸುವ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು ಇದು.

Sometimes we do things in life with minimum expertise or skill. For example a novice trying cook a complicated dish,  someone trying to search an address he/she barely remember, trying somehow to answer a question in exam/quiz  without proper preparation ….we all come across such situations no? It is like hitting for a mango on a tall tree by throwing stones from below. We just hit. Whether the mango falls or not is a matter of chance or luck! In these kind of circumstances, the above proverb is used by kannadigas( Kannada speaking people). Nice way of saying. Isn’t it?
