ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಮಾತು – ನಿಧಿ ಇದ್ದರೂ ನಿಧಾನ ಇರಬೇಕು. 

ಜೀವನಾನುಭವದ ಸಿರಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿದು. ನಮ್ಮ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ಇರಬಹುದು, ಬೇಕಷ್ಟು ಸಿರಿ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಇರಬಹುದು, ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಧಾನ( ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯ ವರ್ತನೆ) ಇರಬೇಕು‌. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲುಬೇಗನೆ ನಾವು ಆ ಸಿರಿಯನ್ನು ಅಥವಾ ನಿಧಿಯನ್ನು  ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಇದ್ದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಲಾಟರಿ‌ ಗೆದ್ದು ಅಥವಾ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೊತ್ತದ ಬಹುಮಾನ ಗೆದ್ದು ಆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ನಿಧಾನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ಹಾಗೆ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿ ಕೆಲವೇ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಡತನದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ವಾಪಸ್ ಬಂದವರನ್ನು ನಾವು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಲ್ಲವೆ? ಹಾಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಹಿರಿಯರು ‘ನಿಧಿ ಇದ್ದರೂ ನಿಧಾನ ಇರಬೇಕು’ ಎಂಬ ಈ ಗಾದೆಮಾತಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 

Kannada proverb – Nidhi idruu nidhana irbeku ( Even if you have a treasure, you need to be patient and guarded).  It is often observed in life that, people, howmuchever riches  they have, if they are careless and unguarded about it, part with it very soon. For example, sometimes, a person who wins a lottery, or, all of a sudden gets a treasure by inheritance, spends it away so carelessly that, before batting an eyelid he loses it! He might make bad financial decisions or unscrupulous people around him may take it away from him. Therefore it is very important that we carefully handle our treasure. The proverb really makes sense. Isn’t it?
